Hi,
I'm a little concerned and a bit frustrated with my GP.
A couple of months ago I started feeling this really sharp shooting pain in my left armpit that would come and go. I told my Dr about it and was told that it's normal for pain to come and go. In the last week however this pain has not left, it's there all the time now.
I had a look at my left breast which looks like the nipple is inverted (It hasn't looked like that before), but now I'm reading all sorts about the nipple that could change to inverted over time and shouldn't necessarily indicate anything serious, but my left breast also looks larger than my right. Not massively, but it's definitely bigger. There aren't any lumps that I can feel, but I'm worried because I know it's not a strained muscle - I haven't done anything that could remotely cause a strain.
I'm 29 and the Dr just tells me that I'm not in the risk catgeory and have nothing to worry about. I just need to rest my arm and see if it goes away (it's been around for 6 months now). The more I say that I'm worried and I want to just have it checked out, the less urgency there seems to be.
Pain in the armpit is a common symptom of breast cancer right, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows or can describe the type of pain because mine is like a really sharp pain. Doesn't feel 'warm' or anything like that.
I don't know if I have a legit concern or if I'm just being paranoid :(
