Reactive lymph node after FNA

Hello,

I had a FNA last week as a lesion was found on my Submandibular gland a couple of weeks ago, during a CT scan for Pulsatile tinnitus.

ENT just called and said that I am being referred to the Neck department (not ears) as it came up as a Reactive Lymph node and needs looking at again in 3 months time.

Does anyone know what this means? I didn't know you had lymph nodes in your salivary glands, I'm clueless!

many thanks

  • Hello again Ivy

Unfortunately I can't answer this question but our cancer nurses may be able to offer some insight so if you'd like to get their thoughts on this and talk through anything else that has been playing on your mind then do give them a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

You could try getting back in touch with ENT to get clarification on this, or see if your GP can tell you anything as well.

I hope you're able to get some answers soon and all goes well with your next referral.

    Kind regards,
