Biopsy-Womb.

After having Gayne treatment for the last several years due to painful/heavey periods. The consultant dropped a bomb on Thursday, want a series of urgent tests including a urgent Biopsy of my womb.

Im completely terrified and this possibility has never crossed my mind. Im a usually heathly, quite cuddley 36 yo Mum of 2 fantastic kids.

Feel so alone as dont want to worry everybody for nothing, but so,so scared aswell x x x

  • Please try not to worry. The doctors are acting quickly. I had stage 3c endometrial serous papillary cancer which does not have a good survival rate in 2015. I had radical hysterectomy, 21 lymph nodes removed, one had a microscopic trace of cancer so I had chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Now six years on and I am fine and living life. I am 67. Treatment was very quick 11 months from first symptom to end of treatment. Would have been 9 months but I delayed the chemotherapy as I was not sure about it. Stay strong and trust the doctors. Use your specialist nurses for advice. Ask all the questions you want answered and do not let anyone tell you they know how you are feeling. They don't. There is so much can be done nowadays. I had only a 30 percent chance of getting to five years and it is now nearly six. I was fit and well and had one episode of bleeding, was at doc next morning and fast tracked through the system. There is hope nowadays. It is not easy. It is psychologically difficult as well as physical challenges but it can be done. Trust the docs and nurses, They want the best for you. I know it is such a shock but you are stronger than you know. Much love from Scotlandxxx

  • Hi,

Many thanks for your reply, firstly what fantastic news that you have battled this far, you are a true insperation!! And I will keep everything crossed for you that everything keeps going well x x x

Its a massive shock, and terrifying!! I have had very heavy bleeding for the last several years, and been under the hospital team. But have had quite a big change the last few months, only bleeding for 3 days instead of 7, extreamly heavy. I had Covid in December and long Covid afterwards, so had put it down to that really.

Trying not to worry untill I know their is something to worry about.

Sending massive hugs and well wishes x x x
