A little lot anxious and stressed

I went to my GP with a odd shape lump in my right breast and also a large grape sized lump under my right armpit. I then had the appointment for the breast surgeon days later. I saw him he felt them both and co fired it's my lymph node and he felt the lump. Queue a mamo then another as a suspicious mass in my left breast also and more clusters of calcified in my right breast. Then off to ultrasound and he could see the shadowed masses as he called them and then multiple core biopsy's done and they sent the two breast ones for X-ray and came back with calcified changes. The lymph node was also biopsied with the core needle. I had markers placed in each breast then back to mamo to check them.
the breast cons didn't see me till the breast care nurse was present and said the changes and lump in right breast suspicious along with the lymph node and the lump in the left also suspicious and the calcification was also suspicious... basically everything was suspicious and calcified... that's stupid word.... and then said did I have questions and looked grim. I was like nope I want to go home now... The breast nurse made sure I had an appointment and walked me out saying I'd have a care plan I'll see her this Friday for results and the plan.... minds racing and I'm lthinking I'm 41....

well the wait is killing me now. I'm wondering who else has experienced this and go back and be told it's all good just natural changes that happen we will keep an eye for a wee bit? The lump in my right is a funky shape and where it ends (no pain hard) the breast goes inwards. My nipple is semi in hiding and the colour has changed slightly, my partner noticed it. Honestly, I appreciate them preparing me for not so great news but my head is now all over the place and I have a king 4 days till Friday ahead of me now!

Good news is what I'm hoping for but I'm also super anxious and feel worried too. Love to know if others in a similar boat and it was all good Thank you

  • Hello Afreespirit

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been to breast clinic and that there have been some areas of concern identified on your mammogram,. I know how difficult this period of waiting for results can be and it's natural to be anxious and worried about things.

Hopefully, on Friday, whatever the results of the biopsy, the breast care team will be able to give you some reassurance about the next steps but in the meantime I'd suggest giving our team of nurses a call. It really can help to talk things through with someone and I know they'll be able to give you some advice and support ahead of Friday. They'll also be able to help you think about some of the points that you may want to raise at the appointment.

If you would like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0800 800 4040.

Do let us know how you get on on Friday. I'll keep an eye open for your post.

    Best wishes,
