Waiting for LLETZ appointment

Hi everyone, how long did you wait for lletz appointment?
I received results few days ago,  from biopsy taken during colposcopy. Biopsy revealed CIN2,CIN3 and koilocytosis. In letter says i need to have lletz done. But the appointment for lletz is in mid September! Is this normal? I can't stop thinking about this and im so worried that until September these cells can progress into cancer.

Edit:

Im 32, i had my first smear test ever in June, came back as active hpv and low grade dyskaryosis. So was sent for colposcopy. I have no signs of cancel, no bleeding between periods or after sex, no pain..

  • Hi there,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sure that must feel like a long time to wait, however it is likely fairly normal, particularly at the moment where waiting times are unfortunately a little longer generally.

If the doctors were particularly concerned, I'm sure they would be arranging an appointment sooner, so try not to worry about the wait - easier said than done though I know.

If you feel you'd like to talk things through at all, our nurses are available on 0808 800 4040 (Monday-Friday, 9-5).

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Hi I had one of these for the same as you and think my appointment was about a month but with covid I expect things are taking longer

Its good you have no other signs and from what I remember the cells are only precancerous and slow growing

  • Hi. Thank you for your replay, I understand cells are "only" precancerous, but I don't know how long I've had them for, as this was my very first smear test (in June)
