Dimple on my right breast and I’m scared :(

Hi everyone, today I found a dimple on my right breast.. only visible when I push my arm in as if I'm pushing my boobs together. I called 111 and got a call back from the out of hours, told me she's not concerned as there's no other symptoms but to get an appointment with my gp. I'm honestly so so scared and feel sick at the thought of it been something serious. I'm going to phone first ring Monday morning, if it is something serious do we survive it because I'm Googling ( the worst thing to do I know) ans it says 5-10 years and it just scares me soo much. Please give as much advice and stories as possible!!

I'm sorry to hear that you're worried about some changes in your breast that you've recently noticed. Did you manage to contact your GP today? I do hope that they were able to give you some reassurance about things.

I'd strongly advise you to not Google for more information. We know that this will rarely give correct answers and will very often lead to people feeling more anxious about things.

If you're still worried and would like to chat with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm).

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn,

thanks for your reply! I had a gp appointment this morning, my doctors checked me over with her hands and couldn't feel anything abnormal or concerning. She doesn't think it's c***** but has referred me to the breast clinic to be sure and put my mind at rest. Hopefully the appointment comes quick and everything is clear

  • I had dimpling of my breast about 8 years ago and had all tests and it just ended up being fatty mass (fibroadenoma) i couldnt feel it, it was only because of dimpling that i got tested.

Hope this gives you some reassurance

  • Hi paige

Im sorry to hear you've got dimpling it's very scary, I'm going through something similar myself. Ive had changes to my breast for a few months and my Dr has been fantastic. Hormonal has been ruled out my dimple appears when I raise my arm on my right side I have now been referred to a breast clinic just to check like yourself. I have stayed away from Dr Google I would advise you do the same because that will only make things worse. Go in with a positive mind set and once you have been checked take it from there that's my advice. I hope all goes well let me know how you get on hope you get your appointment through quickly
