Do I have a brain tumor?

I am a 19 year old male and I am scared to death.

I started off feeling some "movement" in my head. I was concerned but easily ignored it. After some time, it grew into a small but irritating headache. It comes on and off. When I press onto a certain place on the right side of my head, I feel some pain that goes down my neck. When I am lying in my bed and turn over or switch positions, I feel the headache worsen. Sometimes I feel dizzy or have a small migraine but it doesn't affect me much. Lately I have been involuntarily twitching, mainly my feet and legs. Sometimes when I walk, I start feeling "pins and needles' in my legs, especially in my thighs and I do get dizzy here and there.

I googled my symptoms(which could have been a mistake) and have essentially become a brain tumour expert but I really am afraid now because these symptoms align with a lot that I have seen online. I haven't told anyone because if I say "I think I have brain tumor" they probably won't take me seriously.

As I type this, Ifeel dizzy and can't wait to dive into my bed

So, what are the chances that I actually have a tumor?

  • Hey!

Okay firstly, don't fall into the trap of googling your symptoms no matter how tempting it is, it's just a black hole of IF's & BUT's with a dash of anxiety. Sucks to hear you've been feeling this way, I imagine it's been quite distressing.

I'd definitely suggest speaking with your doctor and explaining your symptoms and just overall how you are feeling as they'll know how n where to go from there. If anything you describe rings alarm bells to them then you'll be in the best of hands. It could be something as simple as low iron or even just a pinched/trapped nerve! Please don't panic, find something to keep your mind away from over thinking, get some rest and if you wish then speak to the doctors tomorrow.

Fingers crossed everything will be fine!

    Take care,

    Eva :)
