Confused

My partner was told his right kidney was malignant but his left kidney was benign. Now 3 months later he is being told that his right kidney is just a cyst and his left kidney is malignant. How can they off got is so wrong. Now also being told that there is cancer in the lower abdomen.....and tests have to be done to see if its in the lymph glands. This is after numerous biopsies, scans cameras etc. Is it common practice to get it all....so wrong

  • Hello HazKaz

I'm sorry to hear about your partner's diagnosis and that it's been such a long and complicated road to get to this point. it's understandable that you're feeling confused and anxious about things.

If you're unhappy with the hospital or would like some support in trying to ensure that things move forwards more smoothly for him then do get in touch with your PALS office. Part of their role is to help resolve concerns or problems when you're using the NHS.

If you'd like to talk things through with someone then you're most welcome to call our team of nurses. I'm sure they will offer any advice, support, and information that they can that may help you move forwards. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that he doesn't have to wait too long for the additional tests and that they bring some good news. Do let us know how you both get on.

    Best wishes,
