Terrified I have bowel cancer

Hey I'm 17 years old nearly 18 and about three weeks ago I started opening my bowels a lot more often 3 times a day and it was very soft and large then after a week of this I started having severe abdominal pain on the left side this lasted 2 days and then carried on but only after I ate anything and had bad acid reflux this lasted a week we then went to the doctor and they where unsure on what it was and to see how it goes then I suddenly stopped going to the toilet for 3 days then had 2 of the larger bowel movements then the severe abdominal pain came back on and we went to a&e and they said they thought it was constipation and supplied me with lots of laxatives which did get things moving but not normally then I started getting really badly dizzy and trapped wind along with a bad head ache the dizziness has continued and now my stool is really flat like ribbon which is massively concerning me my anxiety is through the roof and I can't seem to think of anything other than bowel cancer my tummy is always bloated aswell I hope I have covered everything if anyone can help that would be great thank you xxx

  • I'm going to be honest, looking at your previous threads and what you've written here spells nothing more than serious health anxiety which you need to get treated. You're a young individual and yes things do happen rarely, and I am not accusing you of faking any of your symptoms because I know the feeling of pains, but serious anxiety causes many of the symptoms you describe. You seem very cancer obsessed, I would definitely advise talking to someone about this.

  • Hi Milly, I'm in agreement with Lazo91.  Being at a young age , Your anxiety stress and worrying can bring on the bowel movements you are describing.  If you are worried see your GP, he/her will put your mind at rest.,  If you are worried about seeing a male GP, ask to see a female GP.  hope you can get answers from your GP which will put your mind at rest. good luck.

  • I want to thank you both for your responses and taking the time out of your day to help it means a lot I have struggled with health anxiety but worry that that's what everyone assumes now without considering the symptoms thank you for not doing that
