G1124 - lobular carcinoma in situ and breast removal

Hi diagnosed with lobular carcinoma invasive g2 45mm at hospital.  Had lump removed but no clear margins.  Went to another hospital for mastectomy  which went well. Went back to first hospital for results from mastectomy  and told part was invasive lobular carcinoma  and part lcis lobular carcinoma in situ.  I asked if I could get cancer in the other breast and told no. After doing research  they say that having lobular carcinoma in situ that you have more chance of reacurrane in other breast. I now want to know how I stand because I want the other breast removed. I had a diep flap from the stomach and if I had been made a were I would have had a double mastectomy.  On the Oncotype DX  I scored  12 they said its 1% and predict say 3%. Told I don't need chemo or radiotherapy  just tablet's..  My lymph nodes were clear . I would like to hear back if anyone had the same cancer and decided they want mastectomy on the other breast.

LEFT WLE AND SLNB ILC G2 45MM 0/1 ER8 Her2 neg also foci of ALH identified can anyone explain  this to me . Also told benign features in right breast reduction dose  mean there is lobular carcinoma  in situ in breast.

Thanks

  • Hello G2411 and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

As you haven't heard back from anyone just yet it may be worth using our 'search forum' option in the purple bar above as it lets you find discussions other members with this diagnosis have started and all you need to do if you'd like to reach out to someone is click on the pink 'reply' button at the bottom of their post.

Unfortunately no-one here can interpret the medical notes you've included towards the end of your post but your medical team or breast cancer nurse (if you were assigned one) should be able to explain what this means and answer any other questions you may have.

    Kind regards,
