Abnormal growth. Starting to panic

I’ve been experiencing symptoms very hit and miss, odd discharge, incredibly painful to have sex, but it seems to of calmed down a bit to now it’s just uncomfortable at times. I’m also experiencing blood after sex, not every time buts it’s incredibly noticeable. Then my periods are off, I’m on for 3 days stops then it will be spotting to then being on for another 5 days. I’ve been to the doctors a lot recently to get to the bottom on what’s going on with my body.

Doctor ruled out any STI/STD or any vaginal bacterial infection. I then get booked in for a scan last Friday, nothing got mentioned just went home. Then 2 days later on the Monday I get a call from my doctor saying they have found an abnormal growth in my cervix and I’ve been given an emergency appointment on the 8th July.

Obviously now I’m incredibly terrified, I’m 28 and have two boys. My Nan and auntie have both had cervical cancer which is making more paranoid and weirdly getting myself prepared on what to come.

has anyone else had a similar experience?

  • I've no advise at all as I'm in the same boat, I've been waiting 6 weeks so far after being red flagged for a coloposcopy, the worry is horrendous. My little boy just turned 1 2 weeks ago, its really good you've been given an appointment quickly, our waiting lists keep getting longer even for red flagged, good luck for your appointment xx

  • I think this is why I'm more concerned with how quickly it's all happened. I'm absolutely terrified and can't stop crying, but what they can do now is absolutely amazing if it is worse case scenario plus where I'm still young I'm hoping I can put up a good fight.
