I am in my late 20s and have a history of fibroadenomas, which I always get checked out as per GP advice. I noticed one a few months ago and went through the usual process. It took 6.5 weeks to get my appointment on the 2 week wait pathway (due to current capacity issues with most NHS services) and I was called in for my ultrasound and biopsy 3 weeks ago. 

They told me it appeared from the scan to be a fibroadenoma again, and then said explicitly to expect a phone call or letter with the results (which has always been the case for me in the past).

But instead I received a letter last week asking me to come in for a face to face appointment at the breast clinic, which is now causing me a lot of anxiety and worry. My appointment is in 1.5 weeks - I called the nurse to ask for some more information but all she could tell me is that whilst it wasn't marked as 'urgent' it was definitely supposed to be F2F (which for me makes me feel like it's for something serious) - she also wasn't sure if my biopsy result had been discussed at the MDT at all, in which case I am even more confused that the appointment is F2F! She also mentioned that if it was urgent they would have brought me in straight away, but my extended wait for the initial appointment (normally never longer than 2 weeks) has made me think that there might be a lot of delays for patients either way.

Has anyone else had a similar experience, particularly during COVID when F2F appointments are reserved for clinical priority patients or for conversations that can't be had on the phone?
