mesenteric lymphoma considered after CT scan

good morning,

i had mild lower right abdomen that led me to consult a GP and was then refered to a gastro enterologist. he ordered some stools and blood checks and a CT scan. the scan result said that there is a stranding in the small bowell mesentry with multiple bordeline enlarged nodes and probable areas of focal mural thickening in the jejunum. mesentric lymphoma is a consideration and PET scan is advised.

it is important to note that i am not tired, blood and stool are normal and i have no pain in the abdomen anymore. moreover, i dont have any weight loss fatigue or excessive night sweating and all the other organs are "normal". i am very curious and even though sometimes lymphomas are symptomless to see if it could really be this that i am affected with. do some other people here have had mesentric lymphoma and if yes was it also like this. i also guess that this lymphoma if it is this is indolent as i feel "not sick"  many thanks

  • Hello davidfr

I'm sorry to hear that following some recent health concerns you're now facing a possible cancer diagnosis. It's obviously an anxious time for you at the moment.

It's good to hear that you're generally feeling fit and well and I'm sure that whatever the results are of the PET scan that this general level of otherwise good health will stand you in good stead moving forwards.

I can't see that we've anyone here on the forum who has previously mentioned mesenteric lymphoma. I'd recommend giving our team of nurses a call to talk things through with them. I'm sure that they will be able to help with information, advice, and support ahead of your upcoming appointments. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do keep in touch David and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
