Worried

Hi,

I had rib fractures some years ago, had a untreated haemorhorax, long story short, after developing asthma symptoms I had a CT scan 2009 that showed some pleural thickening.  It wasn't considered sinister, I had a CT scan in the USA in 2015 again the thickening was noted but not considered sinister.
A couple of months back I developed right side chest ache at the back near the bottom of the rib cage. Went to the doctors and had a CT scan two weeks ago tomorrow, I have just received a letter to see the chest consultant who wanted the scan in another two weeks.

so in people's experience, if it was something sinister would it be reasonable to expect a faster turnaround ?

many thanks for any replies

  • Hi Mistral and welcome to the forum.

Hopefully some of our members will share their experiences with you soon but try not to over think or analyse this if you can. I know that's easier said than done, especially when waiting for results, but the turnaround time for results can differ greatly from area to area and may also be impacted by the pandemic.

Fingers crossed you receive good news from the consultant in two weeks time.

    Kind regards,
