Health Anxiety about Lymphoma

Im Male and im 26 and I do have health anxiety and im sure most of this is just down to worrying but i really dont know where else to turn. I found a lump in my groin im not sure how long ago its probs been there for 4 to 6 weeks i did go to the doctor and he said he thought it was a cyst and the lump has got smaller and has ordered me a scan just to make sure. Its on Monday and im freaking out about it im now checking my neck, thigh, groin and also armpit out of fear of having lymphoma almost looking for another lump to worry about. Im really not sure what else to do im scared i think i have felt a lump at the front of my neck below my adams apple but im really not sure as it just feels very bone like around that area. I have told my mum and she has felt the area but thinks there is nothing there and im just worrying about nothing. Has anyone else had similar worries that have created symptoms out of no where i am gonna go back to the doctors to ask for some help with my anxiety again but obviously its very hard at the moment with the covid situation.

  • I'm sorry for the worry this situation is causing you Ladsboys.

Health anxiety can be very difficult to live with but it's good you're going to ask your GP for help with this. As you've mentioned in your post, it can be tricky getting appointments at the moment but I hope the information and resources provided on the NHS website and Anxiety UK will help you in the meantime.

Waiting for tests (and then the results) is always a challenge but you're not alone as many members of our community will be going through a similar experience so hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

I hope your scan goes well on Monday and the results show the lump is no cause for concern.

    Kind regards,
