Worried about Bowel Cancer

Can someone please offer me any advice / reassurance.
i feel so unwell both physically and mentally. 5 weeks ago i had an upset stomach which resulted in diarrohea, following that i started to have 4-5 BM a day that were loose for a couple of weeks. That has since reduced to one to two which alternate between firm and soft. I also have tailbone pain. The worst symptom is bloating and tenderness in my lower abdomen all the time. it never goes down. i also have intermittant cramping and random stomach pains with some nausea. i lost my appetite but that is starting to return. ive been to my gp who thinks its irritable bowel and will settle. She has done full bloods, ca125 and stool samples for blood and infection. all were negative. I've had an pelvic and abdomen ultrasound that was normal except for bladder retaining some urine. Gp not concerned. should i be reassured? GP doesnt seem concerned at all but im not getting any better and anxiety through roof.  Any advice / reassurnace would be greatly received.

  • Hi there,

It's good to hear you've had this checked out and that the doctor doesn't seem concerned. Try to take some reassurance from this and from the results you've received.

If things don't improve in line with the doctor's expectations, you can always make another appointment to speak to your GP again - either to get some further information or perhaps something to help the symptoms.

I hope things improve soon for you.

    Wishing you all the best,
