Hi everyone,
new to the site I have been sponsoring cancer research every month since I was 19, I am now almost 38.
6 years ago i had an abnormal smear with CIN1 and HPV. I had a biopsy a few weeks later, it came back as CIN2 so I had a LEEP treatment. Since then I have been on annual smears! They always come back as HPV positive but no abnormal cells. Except for my last one in April that has taken 8 weeks to get the results cause of Covid and it's now HPV positive with CIN1 again. I know people are in a worst situation than me but I am worried as it's been 8 weeks since the smear and god knows how long it might take to get my colonoscopy appointment
I hope someone can help put my mind at rest. I am worried as last time I got CIN1 and the biopsy a few weeks later was CIN2 so it's been ages to get this result over 2 months.
has anyone else been in this situation. Has anyone cleared HPV after over 6 years? Also, how can I find out the HPV strains I have, I have never been told but people seem to know on here?
i am approaching 38 and doubt I will have children as I am gay and my partner is younger and wants to have them so can I ask they take my whole cervix away?
I have private healthcare through work, I might ring my docs tomoz and if it's too long to wait for an appointment I might ask to go private. Has anyone gone private here?
thanks all and wishing everyone here my best wishes and love to you all. Thanks for reading,
Jody
