On year on and I still have concerns

Hi I am a 20yr old female, I found a lump in my armpit almost a year ago now and went straight to my gp to get it checked, I was referred to a breast clinic they did an ultra sound on the area and gave me the all clear, saying it's a swollen lymph node and should go down in a few months, a year on I can still feel the swollen lymph node and have episodes of discomfort, this may be due to me constantly feeling the area and paranoia, I'm just looking for a little bit of guidance I have no family history of breast cancer

  • Hi Gc1122,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It's good to hear that the specialists weren't concerned when you saw them previously. I'm not sure if they gave you any indication about whether it would go, or could come back, but if you have any worries about this then the only thing to really do is speak to your GP again. They can provide you with the information and hopefully peace of mind you may need, so do give them a call if you're concerned.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
