Hi everyone, I'm really stressing out and don't really know what I'm looking for on here? I'm 39 years old and recently noticed a discharge from one of my nipples. It looks bloody but when I wipe it, on the tissue it's black. A couple of times it's been spontaneous but others only when I squeeze it and the past day or two, nothing at all! Anyway, when I first noticed it, the hubby made me immediately phone the doctor. Via a telephone consult I explained to her my issue and she basically asked me what I was expecting from her?! I pretty much laughed and said I didn't know but she was a doctor and a bloody discharge isn't what you expect to see so I thought it best to try and get an appointment! She then changed her tune a bit and agreed it needed looking into and has since made a Fast Track Referral for suspected breast cancer!! I really wasn't expecting this given her first reaction and seeing 'suspected breast cancer' on my medical record has really stressed me out. I have since gotten an appointment at the breast clinic for next week (less than 2 weeks from referral) but the discharge seems to have stopped as of yet! Should I still go? Should I be as worried as I am?
