Biopsy Results

Hi, my husband had a biopsy 2 weeks ago for suspected mouth cancer. Had a call on Friday saying that his results are back and the oral surgeon wants to see him face to face for his results. The first appointment they have is in 4 weeks time. Is this a usual wait time ? Weve been so worried the last couple of weeks and now having to wait another 4 weeks is going to send us sick with worry. He only went in for a tooth extraction so this is all so unexpected, the dr who performed the biopsy told him that he has seen this before and to expect the worse !

  • Hello TheWife2014 and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm sorry for how long you and your husband are having to wait to find out his biopsy results. If you're worried you could try getting in touch with the oral surgeon's department to discuss your concerns and see if you could be seen earlier.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon but in the meantime we're thinking of you both and sending our support your way. I hope the tips and advice given in this article will help you through this anxious time as well.

    Kind regards,
