Hi There,
This is my first post, I've spent time reading through other posts and the information has been fantastic.
So here's my story; I had a smear test return with abnormal cells and HPV positive in December 2020. I I was referred to the Colposcopy clinic and they confirmed low grade cells were present and did a punch biopsy. Biopsy results returned as CIIN 2 and they suggested the LLETZ procedure under local anaesthetic to remove the cells.
5 weeks later I arrived for my local anaesthetic LLETZ procedure to be told that the cells had spread much further than they originally saw and the procedure would need to be done under general anaesthetic.
6 weeks later I had general anaesthetic and the LLETZ procedure (pretty much painless and was really no big deal for me). The biopsy results this time retired as CIIN 3. ️
So I am now 10 weeks post the LLETZ procedure and I'm suffering with bleeding during and after sex. Sometimes is just spotting, other times it's far more than spotting and can last a couple of days. I have spoken to the GP and they've referred me back to gynaecology to get it checked out so I'm currently waiting on an appointment date.
I just feel that with every investigation so far my situation seems to be getting a little worse every time. I've never had bleeding issues around sex and I know I need to check it out.
I was just wondering if there's anyone out there who have had similar issues to me? I'm worried that I went from CIIN 2 to CIIN 3 in a matter of weeks when everything you read says it takes years?!
Any insight or advice would be much appreciated.
Charlie
