Hi,
So basically last year I started to get a sore throat just on one side it lasted about 2 months and I was very aware of it mainly just when eating however i do think my anxiety made it worse, i spoke with a GP who wasnt concerned and said that sometimes we may get sore throats one side.
Whilst this was going on i became really quite paranoid and started over examining my neck and i found when I turn my neck onto my left side (ear to shoulder) I can feel a swelling on the right side just slightly behind and below my ear I can also visually see it slightly swollen when my head is tilted and it's probably around the size of a 10p, non movable and hard. Isnt a exact round lump feels more of a swelling.
I visited my GP who examined my neck and put it down to a positional swelling as when my neck is in a normal position it cannot be felt or seen, I've looked online and cant see anything regarding positional swellings, fast forward nearly 9 months later and it's still there but hasn't changed I contacted my GP again who said if it was something sinister I would know about it by now especially as i had recognised it months ago and it hasn't changed or no other symptoms and she again wasnt concerned..
I've also in the meantime become pregnant and have had a range of blood tests come back fine and the only thing I can think of is that I had glandular fever as a teenager and this swelling may of always been there but I've only noticed it whilst over examining my neck.
However I suffer really bad with health anxiety and have become obsessed with it, I have no other symptoms and apart from hashimoto's am otherwise fit and healthy.
I'm making myself more unwell worrying about it and I'm finding it difficult to shift the worry as im so anxious and therefore panic about any changes with my body.
