i am a 74 year old lady, and two weeks ago i started bleeding, this is the first time i had seen blood since july 1996.I called my doctor who refered me to a gynachologist for urgent appointment.
yesterday i saw the gyny who performed a scan on me then she did a hysteroscopy( neither of which was painful in any way. while she was doing it i started bleeding, she seemed worried so took some biopsis. we talked and i asked her questions(as you do with these things) i said is there a need for me to be worried, and her reply was she was very worried as there was blood in my vagina and she had no idea where it was coming from.i asked her whats next, she said one step at a time she described it has going into a dark room and having to feel your way around, trying to find what you were looking for. she then said if it is cancer we will talk about hysterectomy.
this has really frightened me.
