Ok here goes,
In Novemember I found a small raise/lump in my neck and visited the walk in centre after looking at the NHS 111 website saying I should see someone ASAP (Next doctors appointment said two weeks).
AllI can say is hat the doctor was very dismissive and told me to take ibuprofen. I can honestly say that I came out feeling that I'd wasted the doctors time.
Roll on to March and the lump seemed to have grown (sort of oval/ egg shape from just below my earlobe to under the back of my jaw approx 6x4cm) so I went to the walk-in centre again after the doctors now said there was a three week wait. The doctor I saw was amazing and said he'll make a note on my file to say my GP has to see me that very day. This did the trick and my GP saw me three hours later and referred me to ENT on an emergency appointment.
Almost a week later and the ENT specialist performed an ultrasound which proved inconclusive so sent me for an MRI scan a few days after. I waited almost three weeks for the results, only to be told I now needed a FNA biopsy. I had this a few days later and another two/three weeks passed before being told by the lovely receptionist over the phone that they were 'still no further forward' and would like a CT scan.
I had this a week ago and the call back was surprisingly quick coming five days later. I am now booked in for an appointment with my ENT specialist in 10 days, bringing the combined wait to exactly 70days with no hint of what it could be.
All my life I've been told by family and friends that I'm a really laid back person that doesn't get stressed at things but it now feels like I'm some sort of social experiment to see how to make a person crack.
