Ultrasound - lumps in neck

Hi all,

im posting in here because I don't want to give negative energy to my friends and family. I'm 29 years old and a couple of months ago I found 2 lumps in my neck, one the size of a kidney bean and one the size of an olive (the larger one is under the left corner of my jawline) none of them are visible and have to be pushed to be felt. I had an emergency ent app today where they put a camera into my nose to check my throat, everything seems normal but he has referred me for an ultrasound next week. I suffer from night sweats but have for over 7 years, I have also suffered with depression and anxiety since I was 18 and have been on medication. I'm fully convinced I have cancer, I literally don't know what do. My girlfriend seems drained by the whole thing but she's supportive. I cry most days because of pure worry really a mess. I've also had all bloods tests and they came back normal.

  • Hello SamBee

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns recently. It's good to hear that your recent ENT appointment didn't raise any immediate concerns although I can understand that you're still feeling anxious ahead of your ultrasound next week.

You mention that you've struggled with depression and anxiety for some time now. You may find it helpful to have a look at the NHS Moodzone website which has some tips and information that may help you cope whilst you're waiting for answers.

Alternatively, if you'd like to chat things through with one of our team of nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
