Wait tme for ultrasound

Hi,

About 5 weeks ago i found a lump on my testicle went to the doctors who checked it and said that he would arange for an ultrasound and said it should be about 2-3 weeks. i called my GP last week as 4 weeks later still hadnt recievd the referal and they said i as on the list but they were dealing with back log etc.

Im not sure if if my referal is an urgent as he diddnt explicity mention it. Im not loosing sleep over the situation so no issue with waiting longer. Just feel in limbo about how long is appropriate to wait before kicking up a fuss. can i call and ask if it should be an urgent referal?

    I'm sorry to hear that you've recently found a lump. It's good to know that your GP has referred you for an ultrasound to get this checked. 

    We know that waiting for tests can be a worrying time and with some people currently experiencing delays in appointments, it's understandable that you're perhaps feeling a little unsure about things. 

    Why not give the hospital a call and ask how long you may have to wait for an appointment? If you're able to attend at short notice then it may also be worth asking if they hold a cancellation list. If then you feel that the wait for the scan is much longer than you're comfortable waiting then you can contact your GP for further support and advice. 

    I hope that you have an appointment soon and the results bring reassuring news.
