I did a home test due to stomache issues . I now have a letter to have a phone consultation with a consultant surgeon ? does this mean I must have colon cancer ?
Hi, I am not medically trained. But from experience an appointment for Colonoscopy is to a number of things that affect the bowel. Not all are colon cancer.
The Colonoscopy is a camera to look inside the colon and identify any infection/ inflammation, ulcers, polyps etc.
The Colonoscopy itself isnt as bad as you may think. And is the only way to check bowel. The preparation before may be alittle unpleasant as you clear your bowels the day before. Just have some barrier cream, like vaseline or nappy cream and apply to bottom before and after pooing
Having a Colonoscopy does not mean you have colon cancer.
