3rd cancer diagnosis?

Hi, I know advise might be limited but I've never posted so just to vent maybe. I was 27 when I had a surgery that found I had an ovarian tumour and then stage 2 ovarian cancer. I had a right oopherectomy. When I was 32, I had a late miscarriage and during the scan to find out my baby had died the doctors picked up some unusual shadows. After various (some of which invasive) tests and procedures, cancerous cells was found in my cervix and large multiple polops. I then had a radical hysterectomy with a partial bowel resection. Fast forward to now 3 years later. My physiotherapist who's helping me over a shoulder problem has made an urgent referral to my gp  for diagnostic tests. I've been suffering with mid back ache on my right side which goes through and around my ribs. I've lost my appetite steadily for the last few months as I feel quite nauseous when I eat and I'm suffering with severe constipation and bloating. Dizziness and headaches. This has progressively got worse from the start of the year. I suffer from ibs and I take hrt, plus busy life so I've just been ignoring it and linking it to them. But my physiotherapist believes it maybe more and mentioned about colon cancer. (I pushed him on this he didn't voluntarily say it) so I suppose I'm just here to see if anyone who has any advice or if it could possibly be something else. To have cancer once is bad luck, twice is awful, but surely a 3rd time and different one?

sorry for the long post and Thankyou for reading if you made it to the end.

  • Hello Hayley35

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having some ongoing health problems. It's understandable with all that you've been through that you're worried about this new referral for investigations. Hopefully, your GP will be able to get the necessary tests and referrals sorted and you won't have to wait too long for some answers.

In the meantime, I wonder if you might find it helpful to have a chat with our team of nurses. It can often help to talk things through with someone and you might find it beneficial whilst you're waiting for your appointments. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Hayley. Let us know how you get on and feel free to vent here anytime you need to if it helps.

    Best wishes,
