Deep leg ache

Hi everyone,

If you found this, its because you are in the same boat as me. I have been experiencing a deep leg aches for years. I am now 28, but have been experiencing this type of ache since I was child. My mum was told it was "growing pains", but at the age of 28 I don't have anymore growing left to do.

Other forums and chats have expressed concern over the aches due to age and frequency. For a little context, I have been complaining about a deep rooted ache in my bones mostly in my right leg on a weekly basis. I constantly say "if I could just remove my knee cap, I feel like the ache would go away". The only relief is pressure, or a message on the area.

I'm not the most active, I walk to work, walk on the weekends with family but I don't exert myself. The pain normally comes on in the evening, when sitting on the couch! Last night, the ache became so unbareable that I cried for the first time; my leg felt stiff and I was unable to walk. My husband has forced me to call my GP, which to be fair I should have done years ago but my mind set has been "growing pains". I am waiting for a call back today! I suspect, possiblt arthiris because it runs in my family. My aunt, my mum were all diagnosed at a young age.

If anyone has experienced the same, please reach out because its nervewrecking!

  • If you've had this same symptom for at least ten years, as is implied by your post, then the chances of it being anything whatsoever to do with cancer must be as close to nil as it's possible to get.

  • Hi there, it may just have been growing pains growing up but now this oain is quite similar. Have you had full blood count done? If not request a call back from GP to arrange it. Have you had a smear test lately? If not try get that booked as well. Any inflammation in back or pelvic area can radiate down thr leg. If these tests are ckear then maybe try about getting an MRI scan.
hope you get it sorted soon. Take care Xx
