How did you get your MRI results?

Hi everybody! I hope you're all doing ok.

I had an MRI scan n my head and face 6 days ago and have just received an appointment letter to discuss the results. This appointment is next week and I have anxiety anyway, so as you can imagine I'm worrying loads.

So I just wondered how they normally go about telling you a bad MRI result? Is it usually a face to face appointment? Its just always shown to be a bad thing when they ask to see you to discuss results..

I might just be worrying about nothing, but also has anyone had a face to face appointment where the MRI is clear?

Thank you in advance!

  • Hello Chaaar94

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns recently which have resulted in an MRI. We know that waiting for results can be a very difficult time for many people and it's understandable that you're feeling anxious about the appointment next week. The "not knowing" can lead to thinking about all sorts of outcomes and it's inevitable that you're worried about why you've been asked to attend the appointment.

Try to take things a day at a time, keep busy and not dwell too much on things. Hopefully, within a few days, you'll have some answers and the Consultant will have been able to offer some reassurance about things.

Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you so much for your response, I'll try to do that and hopefully they will say nothing to worry about! This waiting is definitely hard though

I'll definitely let you know how it goes!

    Many thanks,
