Vulva lump and brown patch

Hi all, I have found a lump on my vulva just below my clitoris. It's not painful at all and is the same colour as the rest of my skin. Directly below the lump is a light brown patch of skin which is irregularly shaped. This patch is quite sore to touch but otherwise I don't notice it.
I have seen my gp who is referring me to a gynaecologist but I am obsessing with what it could be.
I am 35 years old and have had 2 abnormal smears in the past both times cin3 and had lletz treatment. My last smear came back clear 2 years ago.
I have no other symptoms, just the lump and the dark patch of skin.
I am overweight and have had 2 children (11 and 4) both natural pregnancies so I am hoping this could be some scarring possibly? However I have only just noticed in the last few months.
has anyone else had either or both of these symptoms?   I am praying it's a cyst of some sort but my gp didn't give anything away!

  • Just wanted to say hello Critt001 and I hope your next appointment goes ok. You can read more about urgent referrals here, which might be useful. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to overthink things, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

    Best wishes,
