Red patch in bladder

Hi

So far I have had ultrasound on kidneys no problem blood test no problem psa 0.57 quite low but I was sent for a camera to look inside my bladder found a red patch so found a biopsy 4-6 weeks time I'm worried out my mind any one else been in this situation please.

  • Welcome to the forum Davey although I'm sorry for the worry this is causing.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will get back to you soon but in the meantime we're thinking of you and sending our support your way.

The waiting is always tough but I hope these tips I've found will help keep your nerves at bay and get you through the next month or so.

Fingers crossed the biopsy results bring good news when they come through.

    All the best,

  • Hi there

I won't worry to much as its hopefully only a red patch and the biopsy is just to make sure everything is fine and find the cause of the redness. If it is anything else it can easily be treated. In my case I was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer of the ureter and bladder after having blood in my urine for the second time in 4 months which has meant that I had to have my right kidney and ureter removed back in November 2020 a further Cystoscopy (camera into the bladder) in April found a couple of areas that had the same cells so am currently being treated with BCG (TB live culture) infusions directly into the bladder with the idea it will kick-start the immune system into attacking the cancer cells and killing them.

My diagnosis was a bit of a shock but I have faith in my consultant team and I believe that together we can beat it.

Hopefully your redness will be nothing of concern, keeping my fingers crossed for you.
