Worry or not to worry?

Hi a brief update from a previous post.

had my breast tumour removed that contained atypia (on CNB) done by day surgery, also unexpectedly they removed other bits & pieces too & sent to histopathology.

All went ok, the only worry I have now is whilst I was being closed up (I was supposed to have a GA but due to issues I had a LA which was fine) is the head surgeon patted my arm & said " I think we have everything out BUT this should have been done a lot sooner" and continued to pat my arm for a while after (in a perfectly 'dad' way) now I've seen this surgeon for a good few years and even before covid he was just not a tactile person so what he said with the patting has me really worried- & the kicker is I still have to wait two weeks for the results.

does anyone here have any advice? Am I reading too much into it?

thanks

I think it's really easy when we're feeling worried or anxious about something to read too much into other people's actions and words. I think most of our members here will understand how difficult it can be waiting for results and it's natural for your mind to wander and come up with different scenarios.

In these kinds of circumstances, it can often help to talk things through with someone and I wonder if you'd find it beneficial to have a chat with one of our team of nurses. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully, you will have some news and reassurance soon. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
