I’m soooo scared!

Hello,

so I am stupid and have never had a smear test until 4 weeks ago. I'm 29 and a half! I've got three children. I got my smear test results back and I have severe/ high grade dyskariosis and HPV.
I was embarrassed and shocked. I went for my colposcopy, I'm nervous of the results. She took 5 quite large she said biopsy's (is this something to worrry about as she took 5?!)

she said about the LLETZ beforehand and I said not today as I was shaking so much, after 5 biopsy's it was hurting me. She said there was nothing alarming but the fact she took so many and then afterwards touched upon the fact that when I have to go back she thinks maybe I should be under general anaesthetic to have cells removed makes me worry?
I'm an anxious wreck to be honest.

I have been bleeding HEAVY (like if I stand up sometimes then I feel like I've wet myself, which is gross) constantly for months, along with clots, whilst on the pill which makes your periods stop. That along with pain made me go for the smear test in the first place (my GP moaned at me to get it).

I have a scan booked also, to see for any growths. I have a cyst on one of my ovaries that I've had for years now.

im constantly getting urine infections and everytime I have a urine test they say there is blood in my urine and white cells also.

all of the above can be  symptoms of cervical cancer, I'm so so worried.

how long did everyone wait for their colposcopy results please? It's been 2 weeks this week and I can't deal with the stress anymore.

thank you, Ami

  • Hello Ami and welcome to the forum.

As you're finding out, the wait for results can be very tough but I'm glad you've joined us as many members of our community have gone through this process so will completely understand what you're going through at the moment and will hopefully be along soon to share their experiences and offer their support and advice.

I do hope the tips provided on this webpage will help you whilst you wait but if you feel it may help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses then do give them a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Fingers crossed everything will be o.k Ami.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
