BC after clear ultrasound?

Hi all. I'm very anxious at the moment as I found a lump in the outer quarter quadrant of my left breast. I was referred to breast clinic and had an examination and ultrasound. They said they could definitely feel it and the consultant also found a second lump I wasn't aware of. The ultrasound was clear, however they've now asked to see me again between menstrual cycles to see if the lump is still there. My cycle has now ended and the swelling has reduced in my breasts but I can still feel the lump. They said if it hasn't gone then a biopsy may be needed next time. I'm debating whether to call and ask for the biopsy ASAP as the waiting is making me very worried and anxious and I've had to take some time off work. I've also just got a new job and about to hand in my notice. Has anyone been diagnosed with BC after a clear ultrasound? I can't concentrate on anything while I'm waiting.

  • Welcome to the forum Caron although I'm sorry for the reason you've joined us.

It's natural for this to be playing on your mind until you find out more and if you feel getting the biopsy done sooner will help then there's no harm in trying to find out if this would be possible.

Many members of our community who have been in this position know how difficult this time can be so I'm sure you'll receive some support and advice from them soon but in the meantime, I hope these tips will help you whilst you wait.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi have you had anymore news, my mammogram showed breast distortion, not really sure what this is, if anyone can give me any advise please. My ultrasound was clear, cannot feel anything, but have been advised by consultant mine is small. The waiting is awful, my mind working overdrive like yours xx

  • Hi has anyone any updates on their situation? I'm 30, have large lump in underboob and have had two ultrasounds in the last 3 months both clear can't be seen. Surely this is good??I'm awaiting app for biopsy and so fed up worrying
