Hello everyone,
My mum found a swollen lump in her neck last May and after her GP appointment, they referred her to ENT. The ENT ran several tests over 6 months due to covid, which included Ultra sound, MRI, Swallowing tests, needle biopsy and then late last year they decided to take a op biopsy to determine what was happening. All the tests pointed to a swollen lymph node that was deep in her neck and tests couldn’t determine what was causing it. The results of the op biospy showed it was a benign growth but the consultant said he was surprised as it looked cancerous and as such, didn’t close her case and wanted to see her in a few months (her results came 4 weeks after the op and the lump was still sizeable after the op).
After a few cancelled appointments this year mum has finally got an appointment next month to see the consultant again. She is still displaying the same symptoms of, hot flushes, tiredness, course voice, difficulty swallowing food, puffiness around her neck and the Swollen Lymph Node which has changed shape.
I’m trying to be positive and keep her in the right mind of frame but i’m anxious that after a year nothing has gotten better and after all the tests they have done, what other tests could they run to determine what is happening?
Many thanks,
