Breast indentation

Hi everyone, 3 weeks ago I noticed my right breast had what seems to be a small indentation. I called the gp and was seen that day, they couldn't feel any lumps and wasn't particularly worried so sent me on my merry way.

Well over the past 3 weeks it's got more noticeable, almost like the outer side is swollen. At the end of the day its at its most noticeable and in the morning its barely noticeable at all.

Well I'm petrified. I'm a single parent to 2 young children and I'm so scared they're going to lose me. I'm going to call the gp again tomorrow to be seen. I've completely convinced myself that it's breast cancer and by the time I've got the results back it's going to have spread too far. I do suffer with anxiety so I catastrophy everything. I have no family history of breast cancer whatsoever. I can't concentrate on anything because I'm worrying myself sick.

I'm not sure what I hope to gain from posting but I really needed to vent.

  • Hello Studentmum32,

The best thing to do is to go and speak to your doctor if your lump is more noticeable, as they are the only person that can diagnose you. Lumps can occur for all sorts of reasons and when you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. As you mentioned anxiety, there are some great resources at Anxiety UK that could help.

    I hope this is helpful,
