Lump in breast

Hi everyone,

I had a breast cancer scare last year, after 3 biopsies in right breast followed by a vacuum assisted biopsy I was diagnosed with papillomatosis, a benign breast condition. Following this I had lymph node biopsy on lymph nodes under my arm in January which thankfully were also benign.

I've now discovered another lump in my right breast close to where the one was last year, I'm terrified as consultant told me this condition can turn cancerous very quickly and to be vigilant with it. I only found the lump last night, should I give it a few days before contacting GP in case it's hormonal and goes away? I know I was very lucky last year that biopsies were benign but the experience was awful. Feeling very scared right now.

    Hi Maggie,

As someone who has had two bouts of cancer within a year of one another, I would advise you to contact your GP straight away. When your consultant told you what he did, I wouldn't delay getting this investigated as soon as you can.

Hopefully, it is nothing serious, but you are better getting it checked out, if only for your own peace of mind.

Please let us know how you get on. we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine,

Thanks for your reply and I hope you're well. I plan to contact GP tomorrow for an appointment to get this lump checked out, I noticed this morning that I can't feel it at all lying down, only when sitting up or standing. Hoping that's a good sign, I'm sure that's how it was last year as well. Will keep you updated when I've seen GP. Thanks again. Best wishes.

    Hi Maggie,

That's certainly the best thing to do, even for your own peace of mind.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news!
