Not entirely the same boat as you but I was referred for a Dermatology appt regarding a suspicious mole. My appt given was 9 weeks away, despite my GP saying he was referring under "2 week wait", so was feeling quite dejected/ stressed... Then out of the blue I had a call from NHS (a withheld number which I usually don't answer) a week later and it was them giving me a much quicker appointment at a further away hospital. I would call your GP surgery again and ask to speak with a GP or Nurse Practitioner and explain that you have been waiting a lot longer than expected...
