Tonsil cancer? Really scared

Hi everyone,

so about 1 month ago I had really bad postnasal drip for like a few days - I constantly felt like I had mucus to swallow in my throat. I then looked in the mirror and noticed one tonsil was way bigger than the other- I can't even see one really and the other one just looks red and enlarged.

 

it's now a month later and the tonsil is still there and I'm still getting a little Postnasal drip and a sore throat. I also feel my throat is a bit tight.

 

I've got really bad health anxiety and have been referred to an ent specialist but really scared it's tonsil cancer.

 

can anyone help?

    A warm welcome to Cancer Chat! 

     I hope you won't have to wait too long to be seen by the ENT specialist. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more about this.

    I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

    I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you. 

    Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.
