Invited for interview

Hi,

I had a mole removed on the 22nd April,I have been waiting for results for over two weeks, today (13th may) I received a call to come and see the doctor on Monday 17th may, no one will tell me anthting about whether it's positive or negative news?

mos this normal to make people wait like this?

any advice would be appreciated?

  • Hello Petervvvv

Even with the current Covid situation, many clinics are still inviting patients in for face-to-face appointments for results. Being offered this appointment isn't necessarily mean that it's a cancer diagnosis. It may be that they want to discuss follow-up with you, or that they want to explain why you're being discharged, or just an opportunity for you to ask questions and make sure you're not left unsure about things.

We know that waiting for results can be difficult and I hope that your appointment next week brings good news and that you're reassured by the team. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn,

so I have been diagnosed as stage 1b malignant melanoma, the next stage is for the to do another 1cm cut around the area effected and also a lymph node sentinel test.

I have been told this will be in around 4 weeks time.

unsure whether this is good news or bad news really..
