Lump above left collarbone - what do i do?

So I found a lump above my left collarbone on Sunday. It's moveable and doesn't hurt. I have been prone to swollen lymph nodes, like under jaw and under arms, which I also have now, which are harder and one under my jaw hurts, but I've been googling (of course), leading me here. I've been reading tons of posts and I'm now terrified I have lymphoma. My anxiety is everywhere.

I've been to the doctors once for swollen lymphs under my jaw (at 18, I'm now 28), which was to do with my dry skin at the time apparently. I'm not ill or anything. I've been injured lately with glass in my right thumb, but I can't see how that would make those lymphs swell.

Should I wait a couple of weeks? Should I ring the doctors? They are still shut and no phone appointments come up on my online account so I don't know what would happen there. Or walk in centre? Would a walk in even bother or just pass me off? Or just leave it longer as I don't know how long I've had them, but like I said, I've had these before, not around collarbone though.

Thank you for any comments, thoughts and advice, I appreciate it.

  • Hey I really hate to come onto this chat but when I see messages like this I have to reply and feel like it's fate!!

I too am a lymph node enthusiast with heaps in my neck (also got the painful jaw one) armpit and the left collarbone !! Although mine isn't typically where people usuallly have left collarbone ones it's not on top of the bone it's like a free floating little capsule literally in the middle of my fossa!!

I've had bloods - had a scan (2 lol) and they've always said to me it's fine. They said they wouldn't even investigate it if it isn't bigger than 1cm (it's measured at 3.5 mm but it feels heaps bigger)

book with your gp get it checked! Also was told Covid and vaccine can make them all pop up!

mine are not here for that reason as been here since feb 2020 (collarbone) at least and the others I found nov 2019! X x

  • Thank you for replying.

Mine isn't on top of the bone either. It's more like the base of my neck above the collarbone. Can they just be swollen for no reason?

Is your doctors open? Mine is telephone triage and no appointment available to book online, wondering if it's worth phoning.

I actually did have my first jab about 2 months ago? Waiting for second. I have no idea how long mine have been around.

  • Hey I have the same thing but on my right, I feel like im prone to random Lymph nodes on my neck I have 3 which have been measured as normal sized. But the one on my collarbone just randomly appeared, I'm assuming when I got my second jab which was 2 weeks ago.

  • That's good that they're normal. For all I know this is caused by the vaccine and I've had it a while, but I don't know how long it's been there. It had vaccine 2 months ago.

I tried to ring docs but appointments are hard to get. Will ring on friday the second they open.

  • UPDATE:

Phoned doctors, got a phone appt and was then told to go into the surgery. Luckily the doctor believes they are just reactive lymph nodes? I'm having blood tests done on tuesday to see what's causing the inflammation.

  • UPDATE:

Blood test done, will find out results at the end of the week.
