Hi. Hope you are all well
This is my first post on here and I have tried to stay off google but I am feeling quite restless and a bit nervous.
I'm a 22 year old uni student and before any of this I was perfectly healthy.
At the beginning of March I woke up one day to find that the right side of my body felt different and gradually I started losing function and feeling numb only on the right side of my body. After around a month it spread to the left side of my lower body.
Everyday I've woken up to new symptoms and feeling more numb. (Main ones being Tiredness, nausea, not so much headaches but I do get a nasty pain in my head when I sleep in certain positions for a long time, urine retention etc.) I can still walk and I'm not in pain I just can't feel much and walking looks a bit silly
i thought it was stress related or I was over reacting so I left it from when it started in march to April and it didn't go away. I ended up seeing my gp in early April and getting referred to a neurologist who referred me to get an MRI to investigate 'cervical (my neck? I think) and thoracic spine lesions'. I got the mri done 2 days after my appointment with the neurologist.
I had my MRI on Friday. It's now tuesday, and I haven't heard anything which has made me quite relieved because I'm assuming it must not be that serious? I'm not sure?! Does anyone have any experience with how long it normally takes to get mri results?
also does anyone know what lesion actually means because the only time I've ever heard it was on tv and they were talking about cancer but no one has mentioned cancer (or anything really) to me. The neurologist barely said 10 words to me during my appointment. And my gp didn't say much about what could be causing this either so today I gave in and just looked some stuff up on google and it led me to this website.
Sorry if this is all a bit confusing and badly written
Thanks for ur help
