Worried about breast clinic appointment

I have a breast clinic appointment on Thursday. I went to the GP last week with pain in my left breast (a recurrent problem which was checked at the clinic 3 ish years ago with nothing sinister found). She wasn't bothered about the painful one but found a lump in the right breast and referred me. I am trying not to keep checking myself, it has got to the point where I don't know what I am looking for.

I know that the chance of it being anything serious is low but I am getting more anxious about what it will uncover.

Stupidly I am almost more anxious that they won't find anything definitive and just dismiss me without checking it out properly. Last time I just had a mammogram and no other tests, while I was relieved there was nothing seriously wrong I felt like a time waster and a bit stupid for worrying.

I just wanted to reply to wish you well for your appointment tomorrow. Please don't feel that you're wasting anyone's time. It's important to get any lumps checked out and hopefully tomorrow the clinic will be able to give you some reassurance that this new lump is nothing to be concerned about.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
