Going out my mind! Cervical/womb 2 week referal

Hi. I hope your all doing well.

What a truly horrible 2 weeks I've had. I'm a mess with worry.

Almost 2 weeks ago on the thursdayI went for an early smear as I've been having some spotting, cramps ect

As soon as the nurse saw my cervix she called the doctor in, they both agreed my cervix doesn't look right and I was put in the 2 week pathway. The smear was done but I bled alot.

The following Tuesday I went for a cervical biopsy, again I bled alot. I was getting bad vibes from the doctor doing it. She said I need a scan, so was immediately booked in for that Friday. I came home and have been out my mind with worry.

Friday morning I woke to very heavy bleeding and very large clots. I called nhs direct and was told to still go for my scan, but when I got to the hospital I was in a real bad way. They don't have a&e there so I was put I a taxi to another hospital. I was put on tablets to stop the bleeding and antibiotics and was admitted. The next day I was examined and the doctor said the bleeding isn't coming from my cervix like I assumed (from the biopsy) but from my womb!

Im home now, still bleeding. Still on the tablets. I have have bad diarrhea (sorry) and basically in a complete state! Just called the hospital to see if my scan has been re arranged and I've been booked in for Thurs for an ultra sound AND an mri. Does this mean they have found something on the biopsy that's bad? I have a bad bad feeling about all this. I've called for the biopsy results but the phone just rings and rings. I'm not sure if the results will even be back yet. It's a weke today since I had it done.

I'm so scared!!

  • Hi Kaitlyn11,

I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties you're having at the moment - I can imagine this must be worrying and I'm sorry you haven't received a reply up until now.

It sounds as if things are moving fairly quickly in terms of appointments although I appreciate this must all be unsettling. I see that you have an appointment today so I hope that it all goes well, and do discuss any additional questions you have with your doctor or the specialist when you see them.

I hope you're able to find out more soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
