Worried

Urgent colonoscopy referral, less than two weeks from results of stool sample to colonoscopy.  Can't help thinking the worst. Various different cancers in the family and two members have had bowel cancer in the past.  Trying not to worry but hard not too.

  • Welcome to the forum Sandyra although I'm sorry for the worry this is causing.

As you'll see here, an urgent referral (in England) is meant to take place within two weeks and 9 out of 10 people who are referred this way are not diagnosed with cancer so if you can, try not to think the worst. I know that's much easier said than done but you're not alone as many of our members have been in similar situations so will understand what you're going through at the moment and will hopefully be along soon to offer their support and advice.
