Cervical cancer

A few weeks ago I found a lump on the inside of my Vagina near the top of it on the flap. I don't have a lump on the other side. I was waiting to see if it was nothing and might just go or if it's a cyst or something. I can't really see a lump because it's not massive but I can feel it. Recently I had a period and I had major pains not like normal so I thought I was going to have a heavy flow this month but it wasn't it was super light not even enough to really fill up a tampon. I never have periods this light as it was light pink and mines usually dark red. I thought maybe I might be pregnant or something but I'm not. I'm not sure if the lump and my period are connected or if I should be concerned. I'm scared to go to the doctors because thinking about it just gives me anxiety as my mum passed away of a brain tumour a few years ago. Now the lump is still here after nearly a month I'm starting to panic and my partner has had a feel to and he can feel it so I know something is defo there. Is there any signs for cervical cancer ? I'm 21 so obviously I haven't had a smear test.

  • Hello Ali1999

I'm sorry to hear that you have some worries about a lump that you've recently found.

It's understandable that you're worried but please do make an appointment to speak to your GP. Only they will be able to tell you for certain what this lump is and most likely they will be able to quickly give you some reassurance.

If you'd like to speak to one of our nurses for some support you can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    Best wishes,
