In February I started to get some discomfort in the left side of my neck and then noticed some lymph nodes were up behind my ear. I went to the GP but they said it was probably an infection (I have not been ill) and to wait 6 weeks before doing anything. I then found more lymph nodes had come up and had pain in my armpit. I was seen again, referred to a breast clinic for an ultrasound on my armpit but told to ignore my neck lumps as I just have a 'thin neck'. I went to to the GP again as more appeared in my neck and was again fobbed off. Had the ultrasound under my arm and was told my pain was due to lymph nodes being up in my armpit. I paid for a private ENT appointment and had an ultrasound. The person doing the ultrasound just looked at 3 lymph nodes in my neck and told me they looked ok and again cited my thin neck as being the reason. However, I now have a much larger lump which has appeared on the muscle on the side of my neck (doesnt look or feel like a swollen lymph node) so I went back to the GP again - this GP finally took me seriously and noticed I had lots of lymph nodes up in my neck, armpit, groin and arms/wrist. When I say lots I mean c100. She has now told me she thinks it is cancer and referred me under the 2 week pathway.
I feel so let down by the private consultant and the other GPs who fobbed me off. Waiting another 2 weeks just to see a constant (and I'm sure have at least another 2 week wait for an ultrasound) is almost unbearable and I don't know how to get through each day. I'm in constant discomfort from the lymph nodes. In the past 2 weeks I've developed a constant tickle in the back of my throat and am just utterly petrified that if it is cancer it has now spread as a result of not being taken seriously for so long. I have a 12 month old and the idea of not being around for him is heart breaking.
Sorry for my ramble, I am just so very scared and the waiting is so so hard.
*As a separate point, in December my right upper abdomen just below my ribs went numb/tingly and gives me stitch like pain. No one can explain why this has happened (unless I had shingles but I did not) but I'd imagine its probably unrelated.
