Lump in breast has grown

Hi,

so a couple of months ago I was referred to the breast clinic as I found a small lump in my right breast that was tender to touch. As I'm only 30, they didn't do a mammogram just an ultrasound scan and the doctor said there was no abnormalities.

Since then it's become more painful. I rang the doctors and had a phone call with the nurse who said the pain is most likely due to hormones as the scan came back clear (pain stays the same no matter where I am in my cycle)

now though the lump has got a lot bigger to the point I can see it under my skin. I feel like I'm over reacting calling the doctors again when Iv been given the all clear but I can't understand why the lump has grown and is hurting more if there were no abnormalities?

should I call the doctor again or just accept everything is fine?

I also suffer with health anxiety so I can't tell if I'm over reacting or if I should be concerned!

thank you

  • Hi Vtlo123,

Sorry to hear what you are experiencing. Personally I would always advise to go back to the Doctor if you have concerns. They may be able to at least put your mind at rest or give you more information about what your lump is.

Your health is important and i wouldn't worry about feeling as if you are overreacting.

I hope you can get some clarity or further information about what is going on.
