Worried I have cancer

I have had persistent itching of the anus since December. I contacted my Gp multiple times to be told it's nothing to worry about. I've had blood tests and all came back normal. I had my poo tested back in September (this was before itching started but tests were normal). I have now had for the past few months consistent itching of the vulva which is accompanied by cramping and stabbing pains in my lower pelvic area (by my ovaries). Drs keep saying it's thrush, made me send off for std test and told me to use a pessary and creams. I've done all of this and still have the itching at the vulva and the anus. I'm really scared that I have cancer and will die. I have two young children and I really want to see them grow up. I'm not sure what to do because my dr just doesn't seem to take me seriously and they're only offering telephone appointments so I have no way of being checked over.

any help would be appreciated. I'm praying I don't have cancer. I lost my mom in September so my stress levels and my fear of dying has been heightened extremely.

  • Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear of your worries. It sounds as if the doctors aren't too concerned from what they've seen/heard so far so do try to take some reassurance from that.

If you feel you've still got symptoms that are still there or getting worse, the only thing to do is to speak to your doctor again. If you would prefer to you can always ask for a second opinion.

    All the best,
